True and False Prophets

The modern world is dense with people who claim to be receiving messages from heaven.  These messages include biblical interpretations, previously unknown doctrines, and warnings about future events.  Many of these self-proclaimed prophets are predicting opposing things, which means that at least some them must be false.  So, what is a person to do?  How are we to discern the authentic from the fraudulent?  And should we even care?

Catholic teaching on the subject is clear.  Simply put, as a matter of salvation, Catholics are to accept all that constitutes public revelation  – namely, all that is revealed in Holy Scripture and more fully expounded in Sacred Tradition and defined by the magisterium.  In other words, we are to embrace all that is taught in the Bible and the Catechism.   This body of teachings – called the “deposit of faith” – has been given to us directly by Jesus Christ, delivered to the Apostles, and passed down through the ages.  It is the duty of the Church to guard every iota of this precious treasury of truth, and to expound and defend it throughout the ages, even as religious fads come and go and theological fashions rise and fall.

The fullness of public revelation, as found in Scripture and Tradition, is precisely what provides for our salvation; it is complete, and nothing necessary to our salvation is lacking in it.   On the other hand, no Catholic must accept that which constitutes private revelation, even those appearances which the Church has affirmed, such as Fatima, La Sallette, and Lourdes.  Even if true (and I believe they are), these do not and cannot add doctrinal or moral teachings to the faith, as if something necessary had been lacking.  For the salvific work of Jesus Christ is perfect and all-sufficient, and its potential for forming, guiding, and sanctifying souls could never be exhausted.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) teaches,

“Throughout the ages, there have been so-called ‘private’ revelations, some of which have been recognized by the authority of the Church.  They do not belong, however, to the deposit of faith.  It is not their role to improve or complete Christ’s definitive Revelation, but to help live more fully by it in a certain period of history.  Guided by the magisterium of the Church, the sensus fidelium knows how to discern and welcome in these revelations whatever constitutes an authentic call of Christ or his saints to the Church.”

In light of this, it’s easy to see how authentic private revelations serve in the larger picture of God’s plan of salvation.  For example, the Divine Mercy revelation to Saint Faustina only emphasizes the Gospel call to repent and believe.  It is a devotional way in which God underlines His mercy by calling to the lost with renewed appeals of forgiveness.  But it is not an easy escape from God’s justice, nor a turn to moral relativism, as if God was revealing that He is now indifferent towards our sins.  By no means.  For even in Saint Faustina’s Diary, one can sense a frightful urgency and a sober concern that the mercy and grace of God can be rejected, to the eternal loss of souls.  Hence, Saint Faustina was shown several visions of the immense chasm of hell and was told that many who are there didn’t believe in hell.  It sounds as if many of our progressive theologians have made their reservations.

My present concern is not with those private revelations that have been recognized by the Church, but with those that have not been recognized.  These can pose a grave threat to the faith and health of souls.  They have the potential of drawing the faithful away from the Church to a sort of pseudo-magisterium of the alleged seer; they can produce a type of gnostic elitism for offering supposedly secret knowledge to a select few; they can draw people into an unhealthy curiosity about the minute details of the life of our Lord or our Lady; they can pollute peoples’ faith with doctrinal errors and corrupt them with either moral laxity or scrupulosity; they can cause undue fear about the future and a lack of trust in divine providence; they can distract people from the ordinary duties that follow from Church and family life; and they can induce a sort of human devotion that should be rendered to God and God alone.  No one should offer an irrational and absolute submission of head and heart to another human being, as is often encouraged by alleged prophets, for such self-proclaimed visionaries are often cult-leaders in waiting.

Holy Scripture offers many warnings about following alleged prophets.  Matthew 7:15 says,

“Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.”

Unfortunately, there is no official false prophet uniform that makes such a person easily recognizable.  But perhaps the most popular look today is that of the ordinary Joe six-pack.  This disarming appearance is meant to inspire trust.  “Ralph is just an ordinary hard-working guy like you and me.  We can trust him.”  The American infatuation with the hyper-informal “ordinary guy” is a golden opportunity for false prophets and other demagogues.

1 Thessalonians 5:19-21 warns,

“Do not extinguish the Spirit.  Do not despise prophecy.  But test all things; hold fast to that which is good.”

This passage instructs us not to be overly skeptical about the possibility of genuine prophecy.  It does exist.   But do not to be gullible either.  Rather, test all things that claim to be prophetic.  Hold them to a standard.  Judge them by the truths of public revelation as found in Scripture and Tradition, and submit to the authority of the magisterium of the Church.  Compare that which is uncertain with that which is certain.

Perhaps the most valuable piece of practical advice on this subject is found in the Old Testament.  It offers a fool-proof test for discerning the authentic from the fraudulent.  Deuteronomy 18:21-22 says,

“If you say to yourselves, ‘How can we recognize an oracle which the Lord has spoken?’, know that even though a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if his oracle is not fulfilled or verified, it is an oracle which the Lord did not speak.  The prophet has spoken it presumptuously, and you shall have no fear of him.”

It’s very simple.  If an alleged prophet utters an alleged prophecy, we must test it by waiting to see what happens.  If the prophecy comes true, then maybe he or she is legitimate.  But if the prophecy does not come true, then we must never listen to that egomaniac again.  Their threats and warnings can safely be ignored, for God has exposed them.

Practically speaking, we should listen for a specific prediction, something concrete and date-related.  Write down that prediction word for word, and then wait and see what happens.  A notorious anti-Catholic end times “Prophet of God” that I regularly hear on the radio has pompously declared that Jesus Christ will return before he – the alleged prophet – will die.  I heard him say it myself, and I’m awaiting the outcome.  And I’ll be additionally interested to see how his subjects will react to his unexpected pre-parousia death.  Not that I would, even for a moment, consider this man to be a true prophet.  But having a concrete event by which he can be judged is precisely what the passage from Deuteronomy has counseled.

Since the passage in Deuteronomy is presumably familiar to every false prophet, we should beware of their learned shrewdness.   They’ve figured out that a certain vagueness can help them out of even the most embarrassing false prophecies.  Hence, they may introduce various conditions that can change.  For example, in wrongly predicting the Second Coming of Christ, some have appealed to the old “oops-we-made-a-miscalculation”  excuse.  Remember  Harold Camping?  This allows them to continue making future predictions while retaining their followers, even though they’ve erred in a very important matter.  Another clever technique is to make a prediction, but then qualify it by adding, “This prophecy is almost certain to come true, unless so-and-so happens.”  This allows the individual to appear correct, almost regardless of what happens.  Yet another method is to claim, “The end will come in your lifetime.”  Brilliant.  The only way you can expose this last trickster is by dying.

False prophecy is an immense industry.  It is the religious field of reckless egomaniacs who lack the fear of God and the love of others as well.  It can destroy the lives of countless persons, both here and hereafter.  If some times results in unbalanced persons quitting their jobs and selling their homes to await the cataclysmic event.   And it also gives religion in general a bad name and provides critics with ample material for their sacrilegious mockery.

My own practice is to remain thoroughly skeptical of any self-proclaimed prophet, and to apply the test of Deuteronomy with the strictest standard.  I intend to guard my faith, my soul, and my salvation with the most acute solicitude and vigilance.  For false prophets, preachers, and wonder-workers are everywhere preying on the faithful today, and with minimal resistance in this age of religious ignorance, superstition, unbelief, and virtual leaderlessness.

I absolutely agree with you here having experienced it first hand myself with a so-called seer who went by the name of Maria Divine Mercy. Everything you’ve described above fits. 😦

    • Thank you, Janet. Yes, I’m aware of Maria Divine Mercy. I’d be interested to hear more about your experiences. Please feel free to write about them here. Rather than a summary of the message, I’d like to hear about the daily experience of being a follower of an alleged seer, the cult-like commitment and so on.

      • Charlie is not your average seer. He doesn’t centre his message on his visions but on trusting in God when the ‘storm’ comes. He has about 20 priests who check his writings, making sure all is ok concerning faith and morals. He also has a Bishop and a number of priests on his website.

Recently there was a decision by the Archdiocese of Denver concerning Charlie’s writings and presentations. No restrictions were placed on his writings. The only restriction placed on his presentations is that he can’t use a Church or Church property in Denver for the venue for them. They explained that not being an “approved speaker” simply means he can’t use Church property in the Diocese as a venue. He remains free to give public presentations in Denver at other venues.

Archbishop Aquila strongly advised the faithful to exercise prudence and caution in considering his work. He noted that while Charlie insists that the ‘prophetic’ aspects of his message are not essential and should not be the focus, nonetheless the ‘prophetic’ nature of them is what attracts many readers.

Obviously the Archbishop’s caution is, itself, a prudent exercise of his duty to protect his flock while not quenching the spirit

Charlie says….”In essence, Archbishop Aquila has adopted the Gamaliel option here, neither endorsing nor condemning what I write and say, but allowing it and waiting to see what fruit it will bear. If it does not bear the fruit of greater devotion to Our Lord, greater love for Our Lady, and helping to build up the bonds of affection and love between the faithful and our proper spiritual leaders, the Bishops and Priests, then it is barren regardless of how well the mere ‘predictions’ play out.”

Charlie added…”I want you to know that Archdiocesan officials have been very kind and courteous to me. The lines of communication are open and strong. This stuff has been scary to me all my life. I was grateful once I began getting direction from my wonderful Priests. It made me feel safe. I am grateful now to get specific comments from my Archbishop – confident that he is watching over me and will correct me when I need it. Frankly, this is scary stuff to have to figure out, and when you have serious men of spiritual authority watching over you, it is not so much intimidating as it makes you feel not so all alone. In all things I do I want to make the Lord proud. I have wanted these last 21 years to make the Priests who have guided me proud. Now, I want to make my Archbishop proud. We do it by building each other up.”

  2. Yes of course..I have been discussing this lady, Mary Carberry, with her followers for a couple of years now, with very little success in convincing them that she is a false prophet. Thankfully Mary Carberry aka MDM, has left her followers but the damage has been done.

I can tell you anything you need to know because I have done much research on her.

    Here is my own testimony….

    By Janet Walton.

I was a cautious reader of the messages of Maria Divine Mercy (MDM) for over a year. I liked the idea that God was ‘speaking’ to us, warning about events that would take place some time in the future, especially since we were being offered protection for ourselves and our families during the purification period. However, the predictions in MDM’s ‘Book Of Truth,’ concerning a world wide warning chastisement etc, were telling us nothing new.

Many alleged seers warn of these events too, most notably the ‘Garabandal’ seers, but MDM’s writings were different in that they were almost daily messages. I think this added to the interest. Still, I knew it all depended on who would be the next pope after Pope Benedict as to whether Maria was genuine or not, because she had predicted that the next Pope after Benedict would be the false prophet! This was the main reason for my caution because I knew that many other so-called seers had predicted that the Pope who would come after John Paul 11 would be the anti-Pope, the false prophet.

I ignored the errors in the writings, putting this down to human error, because I really wanted the messages to be true. The promises were beautiful. I wanted to see an end to the sufferings in this world. I wanted to be living in that “era of peace,” Our Lady of Fatima had promised. I also prayed continually asking God to not let me be deceived, because now I was noticing that the messages seemed to be straying further away from the teachings of the Catholic Church. I’m ashamed to admit that I at first, tried to make excuses up for these errors too… so strong was MDM’s hold.

Then out of the blue Pope Benedict resigned… Was it possible that he was being “ousted” as the messages had warned? I carefully listened to every word of his resignation speech. He was most definitely resigning of his own free will due to ill health, and no doubt the recent scandals had had a part in his decision also. So could we call this a kind of “forcing” out of the Vatican?

St Francis of Assisi had allegedly written about a “deceiver” who would sit on the throne of Peter, but he wouldn’t be a validly elected Pope. The truth is, that Pope Francis was validly elected, and even Maria Divine Mercy says he was validly elected by the Cardinals. So here we have just one of many contradictions made by this false prophet.

“They, My daughter, are being sent to prepare God’s children to accept the next Pope, who comes after My beloved Vicar Pope Benedict. This Pope may be elected by members within the Catholic Church but he will be the False Prophet.

His electors are wolves in sheep’s clothing and are members of the secret Masonic and evil group led by Satan.

This is how Satan will try to destroy My Church.” (MDM April 12th 2012)

Then came the election. I waited with bated breath as the white smoke from the chimney of the Sistine Chapel signaled that we now had a new pope. Finally he appeared on the balcony on St. Peter’s Basilica as thousands cheered. Then it dawned on me…this man dressed in white was Cardinal Jorge. He could never be an anti-pope, a deceiver! He spoke out for the poor, and was well known for the austere life he led. This was our new Pope! All those warnings that a “deceiver” would be elected had come from Satan’s vile mouth, in order to divide the faithful. I knew now without a shadow of a doubt that it was MDM who is the deceiver, the false prophet.

I could hardly wait to go into facebook and see the reactions of the other followers of MDM. How would they feel now that we knew we had been deceived? I was shocked to find that the majority hadn’t come to the same conclusion that I had. It was awful to see them so intent on searching for anything that would put the new Pope in a bad light. I stayed around in the hopes I could persuade them that MDM was just another false prophet. Eventually I couldn’t take anymore of the hate filled remarks towards the Pope, so feeling sad and frustrated I left them to it. If they’d rather believe an anonymous woman’s words against the overwhelming evidence that we now had another wonderful Pope then there was nothing I could do to change their minds, except pray for them.

I was annoyed at myself too that I had allowed myself to be convinced that the messages could possibly be true. All I can say is – Thank you Jesus for opening my eyes to the full truth – for not letting me continue to be deceived!

  3. Thank you. And now I better understand our other disagreement.

According to the prophecies of St. Malachy, Pope Francis is “Peter the Roman,” the very last pope. This is another “prophecy” I expect to see disproven. And yet, I have no doubt that, after a new pope is elected after Francis, somehow the believers will explain it all away and continue to cling to St. Malachy’s predictions. Reason plays very little part in this stuff, but instead, emotions.

There’s a weakness within many people that attracts them to the security of a seer who can reveal the future. I’ve always seen this as a mistrust of God. “Thy will be done on earth” should be more than enough for us. God is at the helm and we couldn’t ask for better direction. I think the infatuation with prophets and visionaries is due to a lack of trust in God, much like those Catholics that consult psychics. It’s related to a very impious fear of the future.

Janet, what are your thoughts on Charlie Johnston of The Next Right Step?

  4. Here is a list compiled by David Moorcroft. They might need editing.

    FACTUAL ERRORS IN THE ‘WARNINGSECONDCOMING’

We can all commit factual blunders, but MDM attributes hers to Jesus and the Blessed Mother.

    (1) Message 15th Nov 2010: “To my Cardinals I say this. To what lofty heights have you risen that you have forgotten the sacraments or the truth of my teachings to lead My flock.”
This is steep coming from MDM!
    (2) Message 26th Nov 2010: “Pray now that Russia will finally be consecrated in My Blessed Mother’s name.”
The 1984 consecration of the world including Russia was an act of the Holy See. The Holy See, which is judged by no one, has affirmed that the consecration was completed. Sister Lucia of Fatima has confirmed that it has been accepted in heaven.
Heaven will not say one thing to the greatest Marian seer of modern times, and another to an anonymous self-proclaimed ‘prophet’.
    (3) 30th Nov 2010: “Why do My children ignore these teachings taught by My apostles since the new scriptures were produced?”
The ‘new scriptures’ must be the New Testament, handed down from the Apostolic Church. What teachings were taught by the Apostles since then?
    (4) 14th April 2011: “Many Christians ignore one of the most fundamental promises I made during My crucifixtion [sic] where I would be present in bread and wine and leave a permanent mark to help nourish souls.”
Christ made only one promise during his crucifixion – that the repentant robber would be with him that day in Paradise. He never said he would be in bread and wine. He said ‘This is my body…This is my blood.’
    (5) 15th July 2011: “…you will be judged harshly should you break the most sacred of my Father’s commandments, Thou shalt not kill.”
Jesus said the first and greatest commandment was given in Deuteronomy 6:5.
    (6) Message 1st Jan 2012: (heading) “Virgin Mary reveals new title ‘Mother of Salvation’.”
If this was the Blessed Virgin speaking to MDM, she would have known that this is a very ancient title. Many Fathers used it, including St Ambrose (d. 397):
“Eve is called mother of the human race, but Mary Mother of Salvation.”
Mary is the mother of Jesus, who is our salvation (Luke 2:30).
    (7) Message 19th Feb 2012: “The beast with ten horns is the European Union, My daughter, referred to as Babylon in the Book of Revelation.”
The beast with ten horns is identified in Rev 17 with the Roman Empire which at that time imposed emperor worship as a religious duty; hence the comparison with Babylon.
    (8) Message 23rd Feb 2012: “My daughter it is important that those who follow the teachings of the Catholic Church accept the millennium as promised to all My children.
“My promise is contained in the Acts of the Apostles.”
Those who follow the teachings of the Church should know that she has always rejected Millenarianism. The Catechism of the Catholic Church condemns it as ‘the Antichrist’s deception’. (No. 676.) There is no mention of the ‘millennium’ in the Acts of the Apostles.
    (9) Message 20th March 2012: “The keys of Rome have been returned to My Father, God of the Most High.”
There are no ‘keys of Rome’. Christ gave Peter the ‘keys of the kingdom of heaven’, and promised that the gates of the underworld would never prevail against the Church.
God of the Most High what?
    (10) Message 29th April 2012: “The evil acts they participate are too serious to reveal to you, but you know that they offer human sacrifices to the evil one, in churches of the Holy Eucharist.”
    (11) Same message: “They have created and started up the apostasy, that exists all over the world.”
    (12) Message 12th June 2012: “The test of an authentic prophet lies in the prayers given to them for humanity.”
The tests of an authentic prophet are: humility, obedience to the Church, conformity with the Catholic faith, specific prophecies which are fulfilled, miracles that put God’s signature on the prophecies. MDM scores ‘nul points’.
    (13) Message 21st June 2012: “Atheism is the biggest religion in the world.”
Atheistic organisations account for a tiny proportion of the world’s population.
    (14) Message 15th July 2012: “My Son could not get those in charge of the Church at the time to listen to Him.”
This is hardly surprising, since there was no Church at the time. The Church was born at Pentecost.
    (15) Message 31st July 2012: “The true Word of God is no longer declared openly even by servants of God in the Church.”
If the ‘true Word of God’ is the ‘Book of Truth’, we must be grateful for large mercies.
    (16) Message 31st Aug 2012: “No man has the ability to write messages such as these.”
MDM is allegedly a woman. Is she using exclusive language? By the way, Jesus, who is God, is also man.

A second list on failed prophecies

MARIA DIVINE MERCY’, THE ‘END TIMES PROPHET’.

Deuteronomy 18:21-22: “And if you say in your heart,’ How may we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?’ – when a prophet speaks in the name of the lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is the word which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously, you need not be afraid of him.”

    (1) The ‘Book of Truth’ was foretold in
Message 12th Nov 2010: “Yes, the book is what was prophesied…It will take you three months. I want you to publish it around the world. It must be large, powerful and sought out by millions just like the Holy Bible.”
Three months takes us to mid-Feb 2011. Nothing remotely like this description has been published around the world, or can compare with the Bible’s record sales figures.
    (2) Message 15th Nov 2010: “The Antichrist is about to spring.”
About 1,500 years of prophecy from approved sources are wrong if MDM is right.
Before Antichrist can appear, the following must happen:
    – a Minor Chastisement, which may be mitigated or prevented by repentance and conversion
    – the rise of a Great Monarch and a resurgent Holy Roman Empire
    – a long period of peace and prosperity
    – the unity of all Christians
    – the conversion of the Jews as a people.
None of this has happened yet and there is no prospect of these prophecies being fulfilled for a long time.
    (3) Message 17th Feb 2011: “There will be three world leaders assassinated shortly one by one…Two of them from the Arab world and one from mainland Europe.”
Message 20th Oct 2011 claims, absurdly, that the assassination of Colonel Gaddafi fulfilled this ‘prophecy’. Are there any ‘world leaders’ in the Arab world? Discuss.
    (4) Message 3rd March 2011: “The Great Persecution will follow the Warning”.
Keep this one in mind. Watch for any claims that the Persecution has begun.
Same message: “The hours are ticking now [for the Warning].” Look at the date of this ‘prophecy’, then at the calendar, and synchronize your watches!
    (5) Message 4th April 2011: “The Chastisement will now befall on the world.”
The author of these words can’t write English. MDM says the author was Jesus.
    (6) Message 7th April 2011: “You, My daughter, will be the messenger to the world of the largest volume of My Holy Word for the world to prepare for My Second Coming.”
Does this mean larger than the Bible?
    (7) Message 16th April 2011: “But be assured the time [for the Warning] is now upon the world.”
    (8) Message 31st May 2011: “The prophecies given at Garabandal will now become a reality. Prepare now for this event for you have only a few months left to prepare your souls.” See also message 1st July 2011: “If I say months that could mean anytime within a year.”
    (9) Message 1st June 2011: “My beloved Vicar’s days are now numbered. He will have left the Vatican before the Warning takes place.”
    (10) Message 6th June 2011: “Pray for My beloved Pope Benedict…Prayer can help delay his imminent departure when he will be forced to leave the Vatican as foretold.”
    (11) Message 20th July 2011: “You are now, My children, in the middle of what is called the Tribulation…The second part, the Great Tribulation will commence as I have said before the end of 2012.”
Sorry, but I missed the first part.
    (12) Message 9th Aug 2011: “This My daughter [the further turmoil which will erupt before the Warning], has been foretold as just one of the signs that mankind will experience during 2011 the year of the Purification.”
    (13) Message 3rd Oct 2011: “This [the Warning] is the Purification I have spoken about.”
    (14) Message 28th Aug 2011: “Time is short now as the Warning is almost upon us.”
Upon US! Apparently Jesus has to prepare for the Warning too!
    (15) 28th Oct 2011: “Watch out for changes in the way My Body and Blood will be consecrated. If the words change which deny the existence of My body in the holy Eucharist then you must defend My divine promise.”
Did these words make sense to MDM when she wrote them, I wonder?
    (16) Messages 24th Nov 2011: “The truth [the Warning] will now be revealed. Rise all of you and await with joy My arrival.”
    (17) Message 27th Nov 2011: “The time for the Warning is almost here and you must be patient.”

Interim report! On 16th June 2011, the ‘warningsecondcoming’ website carried this notice on its front page:
    ‘THE WARNING IS CLOSE
‘THE EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS
‘TWO COMETS WILL CLASH, SKY TO TURN RED, CROSS IN THE SKY
‘MILLIONS WILL REPENT AS A RESULT OF THIS WARNING
‘IT IS A GREAT ACT OF GOD’S MERCY
‘ONE OF THE GREATEST EVENTS IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND.’
Shortly before the end of 2011, this notice was removed from the site.

    (18) Message 5th Jan 2012: “The time for My Second Coming is almost upon the world.”
MDM has predicted the exile of Pope Benedict, the election of the False Prophet, a World War, the worldwide abolition of the Eucharist, the creation and imposition of a pagan One World Religion, catastrophic geological events, a worldwide persecution of Christians, the imposition of a deadly vaccine which will wipe out millions of children, the development of a microchip to be implanted in everyone in the world, all before the Second Coming, which is almost upon us. Is anyone else’s head spinning trying to work out the chronology of these events? Especially since [Message 18th Feb 2012] she says: “This generation will witness My glorious return.”
    (19) Message 9th Jan 2012: “Mankind must accept that the time for this great event is almost upon them.”
    (20) Message 23rd Jan 2012: “For My time is almost here now…go and do everything I have asked of you for there is little time left.”
    (21) Message 4th Feb 2012: “The final stages of purification [i.e., the Warning] will now commence.”
The Warning is to last about a quarter of an hour. How long can the final stages take?
    (22) Message 21st Feb 2012: “It is now the time for the prophecies to be proven.”
    (23) Message 20th March 2012: “Children the time for the schism in the Church is almost here, and you must get prepared now.” Also –
Message 7th April 2012: “My dearly beloved daughter, the schism I spoke of has begun in the Catholic Church.”
Schism, by definition, is a wilful separation from the Church. A schism within the Church makes no sense. The only schism developing at present is in the plague of false prophecies which foment disobedience and condemn the Holy Father as an antipope.
    (24) Message 10th June 2012: “My return is imminent. You do not have time to waste.”
See remarks above on MDM’s ‘chronology’.
    (25) 11th June 2012: “This month is designated to the conversion of many nations.”
    Converted nations? Where are they?
    (26) Message 16th July 2012: Very soon he [Pope Benedict] will be forced to flee the Vatican.”
    (27) Message 27th Oct 2012: “The atheists who will mastermind this plan are devout followers of Satan. [Therefore not atheists, then!] It will be by their hand that lightning, earthquakes and tsunamis will strike the earth.”
    AHA! So they’re to blame!
    (28) Message 19th Feb 2013: “They must not fear, because though the Crown of Thorns has descended on My Holy Vicar, appointed by Me, Jesus Christ, to rule My Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, has been viciously ousted – I now come, at last, to bring you peace…They will now try to kill him, just as they killed Me. They will say that he was guilty of a crime of which he is truly innocent.”
    (29) 20th Feb 2013: “I, through My Great Mercy, will ensure that this purification takes place quickly…This great Illumination of Conscience will take place after My Holy Vicar has left Rome.”
    (30) Message 9th March 2013: “By the time Good Friday arrives many souls will begin to realize that My Warning is upon the world.”
Are there any souls out there who have begun to realize this? Tell us about it!
    (31) Message 14th March 2013: “There is to be a particular insult, which will be inflicted upon my Holy Name, in an effort to desecrate Me, during Holy Week.”
    (32) Message 16th March 2013: “The timing of the arrival of the false prophet will coincide with the declaration of wars all over the world. These wars will be triggered instantly.”

Some people have suggested that the ‘warningsecondcoming’ is a huge joke. There is a case to be made; e.g. –
Message 6th July 2012: “One third of the earth will be destroyed as the angels pour fire from the four corners of the heaven. Then many will know that something is wrong…”
One thing we should take seriously is MDM’s repeated injunction to pray:
Message 28th Jan 2013: “Keep praying for those sacred servants of Mine who will, like Judas before them, kiss Me on one cheek, while battering Me with the other.”
    I rest my case.
